KALARIPAYATTU
Kadathanadankalari Kaikuththippayattu Kaikuththippayattu is a compound of kai (hand), kuththi (hit) and payattu (exercise). Originating from the Tulunadan lineage, it has been adopted into most other styles. It consists of punches, leg moves, stretches, twists, and jumps performed in a particular sequence. It is preceded by warm-ups or mukakattu. Like most exercises in kalari payat, kaikuththipayattu is divided into 18 stages and its complexity increases from one level to another..

V.K.MADHAVAPANICKER FOUNDER V.K.M.KALARI
V K M Kalari Sangam,Now at the pinnacle of glory,was founded by late.Mr.MADHAVAPANICKER,a matchless teacher of Kerala's traditional martial art form Kalari Payattu.A greate researcher and innovator,he travelled widely and amassed deep knowledge about the various martial forms of the land.The uniqueness of this selfness teacher lies in his capacity to blend the innovative with the traditional.
In 1963,on the humble request of his devout disciple,Mr.K.G Padmanabhan,the present chief of 'V K M Kalari Sangam ',he opened a kalari at Ponnani.In the 1970's he opened a kalari at Gopichetti Palayam in Tamilnadu,soon the glory of this art form spread across the country and many new centres were opened in various places in Tamilnadu.The greate GURU'S contribution to the artform is enough to immortalize his name.On the 8 th of August 1992,the legendary teacher left this world,leaving behind hundreds of pupils,who he thought and believed,could further the mission he stood and strove for.
